Candles Sydney, Canberra and Regional NSW

Here at 1825 Interiors, we are proud to stock a massive range of Idyllic Candles. These ever-popular candles are known for their beautiful, realistic scents and longevity. There are fragrances for all tastes and we have plenty of testers in-store so you can take a whiff for yourself—just follow your nose!

To get the most life out of your scented candle, we recommend adhering to a few simple rules.

First: Before lighting, remove labels and wrappings and discard. Place candles on a heat-resistant, flat surface away from flammable items (such as curtains and upholstery) and draughts. For the first burn of your candle, light it for one hour for every 2.5cm of its diameter to set the candle’s ‘memory’, not exceeding 2–3 hours. It should burn long enough to melt the candle wax to the edge. Failure to do this will result in the candle burning straight down the middle with lots of candle wax wasted after the wick has burnt down.

Second: Remember to trim the wick regularly, ideally keeping it trimmed to 6mm. Idyllic Candles use lead-free, 100% twisted cotton wicks. Sometimes you may notice what is called a ‘mushrooming’ of the wick. To provide the cleanest burn possible, it is recommended that you remove the black ‘mushroom’ before lighting, and then remove it periodically during burning. To put the candle out, Idyllic Candles suggests using a candle snuffer as this prevents the wick from drifting off-centre, thereby maximising the candle’s burn time.

And, finally: If the edge of a candle gets too high, the flame will flicker due to lack of oxygen and start producing soot. Try cutting the edge of a pillar candle to 1cm while the wax is still warm.

For best results, store your candle in a cool, dry place and keep it out of reach of the kids.
