You’ve worked hard this summer break, what with the back-and-forth with Santa, New Year’s celebrations, constant vigilance with the kids, having to think of things to do to keep them entertained, all on top of your ordinary commitments. It’s about time things settled down again.
Why not commemorate this freeing up of your days? Here are a few tried and true ways to treat yourself with the kids back to school.
A TOUCH OF LUXURY
Every now and then you should indulge yourself. It’s pleasurable, with the added benefit of keeping you sane.
If you’re feeling modest, try tinkering with the little things in your home: a few scented candles here, a new set of placemats there. But if you’ve really earned your break, go all out. Be grand. Who could say no to a nice, cosy, new bed?
… and maybe a fabric chair to match?
FRAME YOUR MEMORIES
Whether from the Christmas selfies, visiting relatives, your family travels, or even just happy moments at home, you’ll probably have a (somewhat large) collection of photos from the summer break. Cherish those moments. Pick you favourites and pop them in some photo frames. It’s going to be a long time until the next summer break, after all.
GET INTO THE OUTDOORS
February’s generally a stinker, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t some hours of the day that aren’t pleasant outside. Dabble into the alfresco living lifestyle and let yourself unwind with a light bevvy. Or two.
And finally: enjoy some time to yourself! You deserve it.
