5 Fresh Spring Makeover Ideas

5 Fresh Spring Makeover Ideas

THE BIRDS ARE CHIRPING, THE BEES ARE BUZZING, AND THE HUMANS ARE PACKING AWAY THEIR SCARVES AND COATS FOR ANOTHER YEAR.

Spring has well and truly arrived, and most of us are looking to hit the ‘refresh’ button in various areas of life. By revitalising our surroundings (especially at home), we also have the opportunity create environments that help us with clean slates, fresh starts, and new perspectives. Here are five ideas to get you on your way:

1. LIGHT & BRIGHT

Wiping the slate clean, fresh starts and exciting new beginnings are all traditionally associated with the colour white (in its various shades). This is something our staff see all the time, especially among customers who are newly married, recently divorced, moving out of home, or otherwise transitioning between life stages. You might consider giving your walls a fresh coat of paint or swapping dark and dingy curtains for something lighter and brighter.

2. SPRING FLORALS

Flowers and springtime seem to go hand in hand, and many of us gravitate towards floral motifs at this time of year. You might choose a new, statement fabric chair, ottoman or cushion in a contemporary floral fabric, for example. You could also introduce floral prints to bring life to blank walls, or fill decorative bowls, vases and glass canisters with high quality, artificial fruit and flowers.

3. PASTEL & WATERCOLOUR

Spring colour palettes are typically full of pastels and watercolour hues. Choose soft colours, avoiding anything too bold, dark or heavy, and you really can’t go wrong.

4. BIRDS, BEES & BUTTERFLIES

Not so keen on florals? Afraid it’ll look a little too much like Granny’s house? For an alternative (flower-free) spring motif, look for birds, bees and butterflies. Incorporate your new season theme anywhere you like, such as fabric chairs, cushions and accessories.

5. CLEAR THE CLUTTER

Spring cleaning wouldn’t earn its title without, you know, cleaning. If you’re a particularly sentimental type and struggle to clear the clutter, you could always hide it instead (we won't tell). With a few stylish storage solutions such as baskets, blanket boxes, shelves and display cabinets, it’s easy to create the feeling of a clean slate and a clutter-free environment without having to part with any keepsakes or belongings.
