About Us

1825 INTERIORS IS A FAMILY OWNED AUSTRALIAN BUSINESS RUN BY BROTHER AND SISTER TEAM, BEN AND CELESTE.

The inspiration for our company lies with our father, Ken Moras, who was the founder of one of the most successful furniture manufacturing and retail businesses in Australia.

Our retail stores are dedication to him and a reflection of our family life.

Our very first 1825 interiors store opened in Bathurst in May 2009, keeping alive our family’s long history in the furniture business.  We now have stores at Penrith, Fyshwick, Rutherford, Tamworth, Wagga Wagga, and Campbelltown, as well as a new showroom at Wetherill Park.

Celeste has worked in the retail furniture industry for over 15 years with extensive experience in merchandising, design and marketing.

"As part of a close-knit family in the furniture and interiors business for over 35 years, I feel that I have a true understanding of what is missing in the market: family friendly furniture. Although I have two very active young children, I take great pride in the way my own home is furnished and I passionately believe that there's no need to wait until the kids grow up to update your furniture. As a child, I loved living in a beautiful home and I know my friends enjoyed coming to visit.

My brother, Ben, and I based the concept of our stores on our family farmhouse, 'Wicketty Wees', which was built in 1825 and where we shared many wonderful times."

Apart from assisting Celeste in the operation of 1825 interiors here in Australia, Ben is also in charge of the operation of our Vietnamese manufacturing business, ensuring quality and fine workmanship remains paramount.

A significant proportion of our furniture is sourced from this facility.

Jointly owned by 1825 interiors and our partner in Vietnam, this manufacturing plant also supplies other customers in Europe, the USA, Australia and New Zealand.

We are proud to announce that our Vietnam factory, which specialises in reclaimed timber furniture, has recently been certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (‘FSC’).

FSC is a reputable forest certification system recognised internationally, and gives consumers an easy way to identify whether forest products have come from sources that are managed responsibly. This certificate comprises both forestry itself, as well as the chain of supply that leads to the lovely timber furniture in our stores and your homes.

Our goal is to offer stylish, quality and affordable products that truly enrich your family home. We specialise in family-friendly furniture made from recycled shipping pallets, as well as Australian-made timber furniture and sofas, and are proud to stock an extensive collection of co-ordinating homewares and fabric chairs.

We invite you to visit our stores, and our website, where we hope you will find the inspiration to create a beautiful family home.
